Privacy Policy
Friendbe ("we") arranges small in-person group meetups around shared interests. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.
What we collect
Account and profile. First name, email address, date of birth (to confirm you are 18 or older), gender selection and grouping-pool choices, neighborhood-level location (never your exact address), travel radius, interests, avatar choices, and accessibility needs you choose to share.
Matching signals. Your answers to the personality quiz and, if you subscribe to Plus, the Depth quiz, Enneagram assessment, and Human Design details (birth date, time, and birthplace timezone). These exist for one purpose: building better groups.
Activity. Meetup requests, RSVPs, day votes, group chat messages, post-meetup check-ins (whether you attended, how it went, private per-member feedback), blocks, and reports.
Technical. Basic app analytics (screens used, feature events) tied to your account, and device information needed to deliver push notifications.
What we never do
- We never show your quiz, assessment, or feedback answers to any other user. Other members see only your first name, avatar, and RSVP status.
- Your post-meetup feedback about a person is never visible to that person, in any form, at any time.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks.
- We do not send your personal data to third-party AI services. Matching and planning run on our own infrastructure.
- We never post anywhere on your behalf.
How matching uses your data
Group formation runs server-side using your interests, availability, location radius, and matching signals. Matching output shared with other members is limited to the group itself and short human-readable reasons (like "similar climbing experience"). Raw scores are never exposed, to you or anyone.
Retention and deletion
- Group chat messages are deleted 90 days after the meetup.
- Free-text fields are retained no longer than 12 months.
- Blocks are permanent unless you contact support.
- Deleting your account (Profile → Account → Delete account) removes your profile, signals, messages, and feedback within 30 days. Records we must keep for safety (an account-level record of enforcement actions) or legal compliance are retained in minimal form.
Sharing
Service providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and authentication hosting) and Apple (subscription billing; we never see your payment details). If we add phone verification or venue lookup providers, this policy will name them before they receive any data. Each provider is bound to use data only to provide the service. We disclose data if legally required, and we will tell you unless prohibited.
Your choices
Edit or remove profile fields anytime. Skip any optional assessment. Turn off notifications in system settings. Request a copy of your data or deletion at support@friendbe.app. California, EU/UK, and other regional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection) are honored through the same address.
Age
Friendbe is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; accounts found to belong to minors are deleted.
Changes
We will post changes here and note the new effective date. Material changes get an in-app notice before they take effect.
